COTTON BALLS AND COILS

Cotton balls and coils provide a safe, non-toxic and aesthetically pleasing filling with impact resistance and absorbent qualities in your pharmaceutical products packaging. Coils are available in other fibers: rayon and polyester.

These cotton coils ensure freshness and stability in the shipping and storage of pharmaceutical products, vitamins and food supplements.

Cotton is a natural, biodegradable fiber that cuts easily. Its moisture content is NMT 8.0%. Create a dry environment inside the bottle.
Cotton coil is composed of 100% bleached absorbent cotton. The cotton fibers are selected for cleanliness and are designed to provide superior performance in pharmaceutical packaging. They are commonly used in bottling of tablets and capsules.

Rayon is a biodegradable man-made fiber (cellulose) with a uniform length and cuts or tears easily. Its moisture content is NMT 11%.
Rayon coil is formulated of 100% absorbent rayon fibers and is commonly used in the bottling of tablets.

Polyester is a non-fluorescent  man-made fiber (petroleum derived) uniform in its length. Unlike cotton, it is non-absorbent so it will not introduce or extract moisture from the bottle.
Polyester coil is a white, odorless, soft, low moisture, and resilient material comprised of 100% polyester fibers.   Most commonly used in bottling of soft-gel capsules.

Absorbent pahrmaceutical balls  are available in cotton and rayon fiber. All balls are made of 100% cotton or rayon fiber, meeting US Pharmacopeia specifications, sterile, medical grade.

Standard measurements are:
Medium: 4000 balls of 0.26 gr per case.
Large: 2000 balls of 0.9 gr per case.

Cotton balls are pre-cut for efficient packing and reduce a second process of cutting  the coil into a ball formation. The use of rayon fiber creates a larger intake of moisture.

Cotton balls and coils are used in pharmaceutical and food industries for:

• Packaging of tablets, capsules, vitamins and food supplements.

Specifications 

The ideal conditions for the storage and transport of pharmaceutical coil boxes is a temperature of 20-25oC but it can be stored or transported at temperatures between 15 and 30oC.
