The Timestrip Blood Temp temperature indicators allow the control of temperature changes in products containing blood or blood products during transport and storage, for example for blood bags.
Description of temperature indicators Timestrip Blood Temp for blood bags
The Timestrip Blood Temp temperature indicators allows to know if products containing blood or blood products (blood bags for example) have been exposed to high temperatures not suitable for preservation. This information can be of vital importance for the procedures of hospitals and blood banks, since the good state in which a living tissue such as blood is maintained depends, to a large extent, on the storage temperature. The Timestrip Blood Temp temperature indicators are irreversible, remain inactive until activated and have no special storage or shipping requirements.
The activation of these indicators takes place when the activation blister is pressed. We will see how the first window of the indicator is colored blue, which is a sign that it is activated (“ON”) and is already sensitive to changes in temperature. The Timestrip Blood Temp temperature indicators can be applied directly to your product thanks to its adhesive back.
After the temperature exceeds the maximum depending on the indicator used, the second window will immediately fill in with blue irreversibly.
Among the different temperature indicators that we offer there is the Timestrip Blood Temp 6, which is characterized by guaranteeing a quality control of the temperature of blood, red blood cells and plasma stored in bags in a blood bank or in a hospital. We also offer the Timestrip Blood Temp 10 temperature indicator that has been approved by the FDA and CE as a medical device to control the temperature of blood bags during transport outside of a highly controlled environment (such as a hospital or a hospital blood bank).
The Timestrip Blood Temp temperature indicators are ideal to control those products that contain blood or blood products and that have their properties modified in case of exposure to certain temperatures. These indicators are mostly used in:
- Storage in blood banks
- Transport in plasma or blood bags
- Storage in hospital refrigerators
At Sercalia we also offer specific temperature indicators to control the temperature of food in the cold transport chain or to control the temperature increases or decreases of a wide variety of products during transport and storage.
